Barclay provides residential care and support  for people with a moderate to severe learning disability, complex needs or challenging behaviours, including Autism.

Located in the West End area of Leicester city, the service is ideally placed to access a wide range of community facilities and amenities. It also has excellent transport links, being close to direct bus routes around the city.

  • A highly skilled staff team, trained in enablement, risk management and independent living skills training;
  • Comprehensive assessment of independent living skills and abilities;
  • Individual progress folders recording on-going improvements in key skill areas;
  • Supported transition into identified supported living placements;
  • Fee efficiencies related to changing levels of individual support.

Who is the service for?

  • Individuals who may be looking to ‘step down’ from a more intensive residential placement as a preparatory move towards a more independent or supported living situation
  • Younger adults who are in transition from intensive children’s services to adult services . Barclay can offer the necessary ’stepping stone’ to independent or supported living through its intensive skill training programmes
  • Individuals who may be struggling in a supported living situation, and need to temporarily ‘step up’ to acquire the skills necessary to succeed within independent living
  • Individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities, complex needs or challenging behaviour, who are currently living at home, but require an intermediate step towards supported living
  • Individuals who require a long term placement whilst still maximising their independent living
